Eurocom Enters Administration, Lays Off Staff

Posted on December 7, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

This past fall’s 007 Legends wasn’t particularly well received by critics, including us. It looks like the developers behind the game, Eurocom have closed their doors for good as they enter “administration”, as reported by Eurogamer. A company in the U.K entering administration is similar to one filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy here in North America, they have effectively laid-off their entire 150 person workforce.

Prior to working on 007 Legends Eurocom released the well received James Bond title, GoldenEye Reloaded, on the Nintendo Wii and then Ps3/Xbox 360 one year later. Other notable projects over their 25 year history include Deadspace Extraction on the Wii and the really under rated Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds on the PlayStation 2. The remainder of their catalog consists of various ports and licensed titles dating back to the early 90s.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to everyone who lost their jobs yesterday. It is always sad to see a company go under, especially around the holidays.

007 Legends | Review

Posted on November 14, 2012 by Jason Bassett

I have been a big fan of the 007 franchise since the days of Goldeneye (both the movie and the game). I haven’t missed one in theaters since Die Another Day and I have loved the countless old-time 007 movies to this day; The Man with the Golden Gun is my favorite. When Activision announced that they were going to be making a game out of some of the old favorites and Die Another Day, I was really excited to see where they would take this game and its routes. Apparently, Activision and Eurocom seemed to forget what James Bond was all about.Read More

Blockbuster Cast Announced For 007 Legends

Posted on July 27, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Activations next James Bond title, 007 Legends, looks to  be bringing its A game with the announcement of a celebrity roster of contributors. Naturally you’ve got Daniel Craig reprising his role as 007, James Bond. Joining him are Michael Lonsdale as Hugo Drax and Richard Kiel as the steel teethed Jaws. To top the whole thing off the game’s narrative is being written by veteran bond scribe Richard Kiel who penned The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day and GoldenEye.

007 Legends certainly has enough talent behind it to make it stand out from some of the other bond games that have passed us by. Will it recapture the magic that Goldeneye 007 did in ’97? That has yet to be seen, and to be honest we probably shouldn’t be comparing it to a 15 year old game, anyways.

007 Legends is due out this Fall and spans 5 different bond films including one from each decade of the franchise. More information about the game should be revealed soon, until then why not check out a few screenshots from our gallery at the bottom of this article.Read More
