February’s Games with Gold Titles Announced

With the end of each month, comes the newest announcement of the next two games that Microsoft will make free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Last month, gamers had the chance to pick up Sleeping Dogs for the first half of January and for the second half the Xbox Live arcade title Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. It seems that Microsoft is starting to turn the tide and are starting to release pretty decent titles for their “Games with Gold” program. January 2014’s First Games With Gold Title

While many gamers have started to question the integrity of Microsoft’s Games with Gold program due to offering games that are years old, such as last month’s Gears of War, it seems they are listening to the community and are starting to offer up newer games. The most recent game that was released through Microsoft’s Games with Gold was Shoot Many Robots, which is a fun cooperative arcade title. This month’s release, however, sees you as an undercover cop that is trying to take down one of Hong Kong’s most dangerous groups: The Triads.

Shoot Many Robots Free, Via Games With Gold

For the first part of December, Gears of War was free to Gold Members on Xbox Live via the Games with Gold program that Microsoft started this year. This only lasted for the first half of December, as with previous months, and now it is the 16th so the next free game of the month is now available for Gold Members to download – this game would be the four-player co-op XBLA game Shoot Many Robots. It will be available to download for free from today until December 31st.

Microsoft’s Games With Gold Becomes Permanent

Microsoft’s apparent answer to Sony’s Playstation Plus service has been extended indefinitely, according to a blog post the company posted today. Microsoft also claimed users have spent over 120 million hours playing the games provided by the Games with Gold service, though made no indication as to whether or not these figures were captured in specific time frames or overall.Read More
