Posted on February 23, 2016 by Jason Nason

SEGA reveled today in celebration of the series releasing in North America for the first time, pre-orders and a limited number of launch edition copies of 7th Dragon III Code: VFD will be packed with a commemorative 28-page art book.

In 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, humankind is on the brink of extinction until the game company NODENS devises a way to travel back in time. Players will have to explore three time periods with a deeply customizable party (8 classes, 40 voices, and 96 appearance options!), to fight dragons and save the human race. Oh, but in between battles, there are also relationships to build, party synergies to manage, and rescuing cats to include in the game’s Cat Café. (really.)

It’s been just over a month since the last system update, but the Nintendo 3DS firmware has been updated again. This is a very minor update which updates the 3DS system from version 10.5.0-30U to version 10.6.0-31U.

There aren’t any big changes in this update, with the only text on the update the very same as last month’s update. The text from Nintendo as follows:

Posted on February 23, 2016 by Jason Nason

The Mega Man Legacy Collection for the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One hits stores today! The collection is a celebration of the 8-bit history of Capcom’s iconic Blue Bomber. The game features faithful reproductions of the series’ origins with the original six Mega Man games, The Legacy Collection will remind long-time fans and introduce newcomers to what made Mega Man such a popular and iconic character.

In addition to the six Mega Man games, Mega Man Legacy Collection also features new ways to experience the classic games with the Museum Mode and new Challenge Mode. Challenge Mode remixes gameplay segments from all six games, with plenty of scaling difficulty objectives for experienced players to conquer yet serving as a good starting point for new players, too. Star Wars Battlefront February Patch Notes Released

Posted on February 23, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Fans of EA/DICE’s multiplayer centric shooter set in A Galaxy Far Far Away will be happy to learn that the pair has revealed the official patch notes for the upcoming February content drop.  As previously announced a brand new map will become available when this patch drops – Twilight on Hoth  which supports a whole bunch of modes including – Walker Assault, Supremacy, Turning Point, Blaster, Fighter Squadron, Drop Zone and Heroes & Villains. A new survival map also set on Hoth – “Ice Caverns” – will also be made available for the single player wave survival mode.

In terms of other smaller but impactful changes: Primary weapons will now do 10% more damage against vehicles. The ION torpedo has had its speed increased by 30 meters per second while using the Pulse Rifle players will suffer a 30% movement decrease and finally the pre-lobby countdown timer has been decreased from 30 seconds to 20 seconds.

There’s a whole bunch of other stuff in the official patch notes which you can read after the jump. Here’s hoping that Twilight on Hoth lives up on the original Walker Assault map that shipped with the game.  Read More

Xbox live goes down, stays down

Posted on February 23, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Last night reports started flooding in that Xbox live was down started flooding Twitter, Facebook, and other social media that Microsofts Xbox live service was down. Since the latest Xbox One requires a connection to live to use apps, stream media, and play and download most games, this effectively rendered the 500$ piece of hardware useless. After over 14 hours (first reports coming in at 5pmEST) the service is still spotty this morning. As of my posting this the live status site for Xbox live says everything is back up.

This latest outage will remind fans of Microsofts paid online gaming service of the last similar outage, almost a year ago, when a massive scale DDoS attack knocked Xbox live offline during the Christmas holidays.
