Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II | Review

Posted on June 25, 2012 by Kirk Williford

Sega has been trying for a long, long time to mimic the success of the Sonic games from the Genesis era on the current generation of consoles. Their most recent attempt comes with the Sonic 4 episodes – but that in itself brings up the question of why Sega thinks breaking up a series known for it’s fast pace and progression is a good idea. Is Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 worth it? Simply put: not really.

FFXI The Most Profitable Final Fantasy Title Ever

Posted on June 25, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Final Fantasy XI has been online for almost a decade with thousands of players logging into the world of Vana’diel to take up arms. During the opening remarks at this year’s Vanafest in Japan Square-Enix CEO Yoichi Wada noted that the game is now the most profitable in the series’ 22 year run.

He said:

“Looking at profitability, it’s the top of all past FF games.”

With almost 10 years under its belt it’s not surprising that Square-Enix has profited from the thousands of $15 a month subscriptions they’ve collected on PC, PS2 and Xbox 360. The game will be getting a brand-new expansion pack later in the year the developer announced at Vanafest, as well.

Far Cry 3 Delayed In North America & Europe

Posted on June 25, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Bad news for all of you would-be island infiltrators. Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Far Cry 3  has been delayed in both North America and Europe. Instead of shipping in first week of September the game will now launch on November 29 in Europe and December 4th in the United States & Canada.

This delay is not believed to be due to any last minute development hitches, as the press release states that Far Cry 3 will have a positive impact on the companies bottom line for 2012. Perhaps it has been delayed to maximize sales? Whatever the reason just be glad this one didn’t slip into 2013 like Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider did earlier this month.
