GDC 2016 Editorial: We Are The Underdogs

Posted on March 15, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

It is undeniable that the annual Games Developer Conference (or GDC) is a spectacular event. Once a year sharp & inquisitive minds involved in various facets of game development, marketing, business, and journalism converge on the Moscone Center in San Francisco California for a week of hands-on demos, networking and panel discussions. Broken Joysticks is by no means a large player in the games journalism space, so just how did a small scrappy site like ours become the journalism underdogs at this year’s conference?Read More

Broken Joysticks Now Has Our Own Sub Reddit

Posted on February 18, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Our site is the primary place for us to post new content but if you’ve ever wanted to comment on our articles, pitch story ideas or interact with our editors that has been a little difficult up until now. Aside from dropping us an email we haven’t really provided a solid way for the community to chat with us outside of our Twitter and Facebook Page. Now you can join in on the conversation on our official Sub Reddit where anyone who visits our site can leave us feedback.

Looking forward to hearing from folks!

The Great Broken Joysticks Holiday Giveaway Contest

Posted on December 20, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

The holidays are a great time to be a gamer, as a child you get to wait for your favorite game with anticipation, hoping that it is wrapped under the tree. As an adult you either get to be selfish and play Assassin’s Creed III for two straight days or ya know visit family. We here at Broken Joysticks might not be knee deep in games due to the annual slowdown but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to give you something. That is why we are launching the first Broken Joysticks Great Holiday Give Away.

During the next two weeks (December 24th thru January 4th) we will be giving away over 20 steam codes for popular games. Each day we’ll run at least one contest on our front-page similar to the Skyrim Giveaway from last week, picking a winner from either Facebook or Twitter!Read More
