Doom Alpha Now Open For All If You Hurry

Doom Alpha

Players can now register for the Doom Alpha happening this weekend for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. According to tweets by developer Bethesda, keys are being given on a first come first serve basis so you better hurry if you want one. You can sign up for the Alpha here.

The new Doom game hasn’t recieved too much hype as of right now, and Bethesda is currently keeping any footage of the Alpha strictly under wraps. Any player that participates will have to agree to an NDA. Doom is one of those franchises that hasn’t been good for a long time, but on the other hand it hasn’t been made for a long time either so maybe that will balance it out. It’s hard for a franchise that codified many of our now standard things in gaming to not appear generic, and I don’t know if this new Doom will succeed in actually being interesting. Still, if shooters are your thing Doom is still a pretty big deal, so go out there and shoot some demons. Just be sure not to tell anyone too much about it, lest the lawyers come and get you.

Screenshots From Private Battlefield 4 Alpha Surface

Posted on June 9, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Electronic Art’s latest Battlefield game isn’t exactly a secret, in fact when the game was unveiled a few months ago they treated us all to over ten minutes of in-game footage taken from the single player campaign.  What is concerning is that someone has leaked almost a dozen screenshots from an internal Alpha build right before E3. While none of the details presented are confirmed, these screenshots hint at some exciting new features for this military franchise.

As others have pointed out, a few screenshots in the gallery make allusions to enhanced knife, gun and character customization. BF4 may also include changes to the squad re-spawning system as well, raising the amount of players in a Squad to five. Only one new map is featured in the Alpha multiplayer trial – titled “Siege”, appears to take place in Shanghai.

Obviously these screenshots come from an unfinished internal alpha build, several areas like vehicles and environment lack finished texts and post-processing. Are you excited for Battlefield 4? Let us know in the comments, and check out a partial gallery after the jump.
