Sadame | Review

Posted on March 8, 2016 by Jason Nason

When describing this game to a friend I told him that the game feels like playing Double Dragon, but set in Feudal Japan. While that’s not completely accurate, it does lend to the way that the game feels when you play it. Aside from the fact that the game isn’t a two-player co-op, the game does have a single player “multiplayer” aspect which has some fun to it.

In SADAME one hundred years have passed since the Onin War. Havoc struck the heart of the holy city of Kyoto and the world flooded with evil spirits from the mountains and rivers. This land of Kawanakajima, surrounded by two large rivers, was once known for its fertile soil and praised in many folk songs. But now this land is poisoned, and the people are barely holding on as they live each day in fear of demons and the undead. In the midst of all this, a single traveler comes to Kawanakajima.

Trailer: Rogue Class for Sadame

Posted on February 24, 2016 by Jason Nason

Rising Star Games has released another trailer for their upcoming RPG Sadame. The upcoming action/RPG title launches on February 25th to the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS.

In Sadame you’ll have a choice of four wildly unique playable characters to upgrade and defeat the forces of evil. Perhaps the most interesting choice is the Rogue.

Combining several combat elements, including a mid-range polearm, a long-range bow, and magical abilities, there is no shortage of options when it comes to the Rogue. Her spells include options that can affect both the player and allies as well as enemies. Need to heal or buff your crew? Or would you rather charm enemy forces to fight for you? How about both mixed in with some combat? The choice is up to you.

First trailer for Sadame Released

Posted on February 19, 2016 by Jason Nason

Sadame comes to the Nintendo 3DS eShop next week, and developers Rising Star Games have published a video trailer for the upcoming action-RPG title.

Rooted in the duty, discipline, and honor so entrenched within the way of the warrior (bushido), the Samurai is an absolute master of sword wielding and melee attacks. As one of four playable characters, the Samurai is closest to the warrior or “tank” character archetype – lots of health and the ability to deal lots of up-close damage. The Samurai is capable of two types of attack disciplines: using massive individual swords to inflict high amounts of damage upon the hordes of enemies in front of him, or learning the art of dual wielding and equipping swords to each hand.

Set in an alternate version of the historical Sengoku, or Warring States, Period in ancient Japan that saw a near constant amount of war and political upheaval, Sadame is a frenetic and imaginative hack-and-slash action/adventure title for the Nintendo 3DS that will have players fight wave after hellish wave of demonic enemies and huge, daunting bosses. Skillfully defeat the evil hordes in front of you with a variety of combos and moves to gain experience – level up your character, improve your weapons and armor, and strengthen yourself to take on the fearsome final foes once and for all!

The samurai, as well as the three other character types, features its own unique play style and will feature items and upgrades exclusive to that class. The story of Sadame and the gamer’s encounters along the main quest will vary depending on the character class chosen as well.

Rising Star Games plans more character reveals for Sadame in the coming days, and we’ll bring them to you. In the meantime, take a look at the latest trailer for the game.

Intense Japanese Action-RPG Sadame Set to Conquer America on Nintendo 3DS

Posted on February 12, 2016 by Jason Nason

Rising Star Japan announced today that it will bring the intense action-RPG Sadame to the U.S. and Europe on February 25th, exclusively on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS.

Translating simply as ‘fate’, four warriors are called to battle with a whirl of swords, spells and mysterious arcane abilities in this fast-paced hack-‘n-slash adventure. Cut a swathe through waves of demons as you battle against the vivid backdrop of a reimagined Warring States period of Japan. Players guide their chosen hero through dozens of stages, facing an onslaught of over twenty enormous bosses, collecting loot, enhancing their equipment and levelling up with new abilities with which to punish and slay Nobunaga’s hordes.

Choose from the sword-wielding Samurai; the ranged and stealthy Ninja; the spell-slinging Monk or the enchanting witchery of the Rogue. Each of the four playable heroes has a distinct story and gameplay style with their own abilities and skills to explore and enhance. However, as loot is shared between multiple save files and previously created heroes can be set to assist new ones in battle – not to mention the branching paths offered by the story – Sadame offers a huge amount of replay value.Read More
