Bethesda Softworks may have cancelled Human Head’s upcoming Prey 2. The sequel to 2006’s Prey painted a very picture than its predecessor. In Prey 2 Players take the role of a human Air Marital turned bounty hunter on stranded on alien world.

As GameTrailers points out this isn’t the first bump on the road to going gold for Human Head Studios. The publisher apparently cancelled the dev’s scheduled 3 part talk earlier this month’s Game’s Development Conference in San Francisco.

The Prey 2 E3 demo was eventually released to the public after it’s showing in June 2011. The demo impressed both press and fans alike with a variety of mission objective and inventive science fiction weapons like a plasma like lasso and wrist mounted rockets at the player’s disposal.

Unfortunately for Bethesda and parent company Zenimax Prey 2 isn’t the only 2012 release to reportedly face cancellation. Earlier in the year a number of art assets and details leaked out for Doom IV followed by word that game had been put on the back-burner.
