Twitch Prime Members Get a SWTOR Premium Expansion & Exclusive Mount

Posted on May 6, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

Do you have a Sith Warrior, Bounty Hunter or Jedi Knight that you’ve left unplayed in a galaxy far far away? Twitch.TV and Electronic Arts are giving lapsed SWTOR players who also happen to be Twitch Prime members a great reason to jump back into the game – a free AC-PT mount, a free level 65 character boost and access to the entire episode release of Knights of the Eternal Throne (the latestt expansion released just four months ago).

SWTOR

The AC-PT mount as it appears in SWTOR.

If you are new to the world of The Old Republic and find the whole multiple expansion thing confusing, here is a rundown of all of the content currently available to players:

  • Base class story (Level 1 – 50) also known as the “vanilla” version of SWTOR with different class stories for each playable profession.
  • Rise of the Hutt Cartel (Level 50 – 55)
  • Shadow of Revan (Level 55 – 60)
  • Knight of the Fallen Empire (Level 61 – 65)
  • Knights of the Eternal Throne (Level 66 – 70)

Expansions are no longer purchased individually, it used to be that expansions like Rise of the Hutt Cartel would be purchasable for $9.99 USD. Now Bioware provides all players with all the current expansions and any release of any current on-going expansions until their subscription lapses. For new players, this means that you can essentially unlock enough content to keep you busy for months by purchasing a single month’s subscription. There are also different levels of accounts – Subscriber, Preferred (former subscriber) and Free to Play. For more information on how these account levels differ I highly recommend checking out this page!

Once you’ve got a redemption code for the Knights of the Eternal Throne Ultimate pack here are the instructions to use it:

Use the Twitch Prime code to activate your Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Eternal Throne Ultimate Pack
1: Create your account at: www.StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com/Play-Free
2: Redeem Your Code at: www.StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com/redeem-code
3: Get started on your Knights of the Eternal Throne story adventure by logging into the game and choose ‘CREATE CHARACTER’ and select ‘KNIGHTS OF THE ETERNAL THRONE.’ This will create your Level 65 Outlander with the Outlander Character Token included in the pack and lets you jump immediately into the action in Chapter One: Wrath and Ruin!
4: Claim the AC-PT Walker Mount from your in-game mail

I’m looking forward to going back to The Old Republic eventually. Although I’ve claimed my code for Knights of the Eternal Throne but it is going to b e a long while before I get to its’ episodic content. I still haven’t finished the main Sith Warrior story quest and then have three more expansions to go through before getting to Eternal Throne. Still – a free expansion is a free expansion, I’ll definitely take it.

Oh, and it should be noted that unlike when you subscribe to The Old Republic the one-time Twitch code will not give you access to all previously released expansion if you are a new player. You’ll have to subscribe for one month to gain the mission expansions between the base game and External Throne.

Star Wars the Old Republic is Still Alive

Posted on July 19, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Remember Star Wars the Old Republic? The now free to play BioWare MMO that was the successor to Knights of the Old Republic, but lacked all of its charm, story and fun? Well, I do. That game actually soured me on playing any more Star Wars games. I havent touched any since, so poorly handled was the game. Well, now BioWare wants you to come back, and play a little more. Announcing today their new expansion for the already free to play game, which will be called.

Knights of the Eternal Throne

There you go. This is a five year old game people. Im surprised I even saw this story on the news wire today at all. Though ToR still has a small dedicated fan group. It is by no means a successful MMO. What started out as a paid monthly wow like game, eventually devolved in to the worst free to play garbage that existed.

Following on from the story-driven Knights of the Fallen Empire, the latest entry will feature more of BioWare’s trademark cinematic storytelling, as well as exciting new game features. So I expect a lot of running around doing things, and talking to people. Can we be done with story driven MMO’s yet?

Right now all you can really do is sign up at the website and see a fancy animation. Go here to do that if for some reason you are a serious Star Wars fan, or still playing this game.

When KOTET does arrive, it will align with The Old Republic’s fifth anniversary which EA and Bioware have marked with a celebratory blog post from director of design James Ohlen; an infographic which, among other things, notes players have sunk an impressive 1.5 million hours into SW:TOR since 2011; a handy collection of the game’s trailers; and this video.

So good luck out there, hopefully this expansion doesn’t suck as much as the last one did. Knights of the Eternal Throne is expected to launch in “Fall 2016”.
