Blastoise and Aegislash DLC coming to Pokken Tournament

Nintendo revealed in a Nintendo Direct mini that two new Pokémon are being added to Pokken Tournament over the next few months as paid DLC. Aegislash will be added January 31at with Blastoise available in March.

Aegislash and Blastoise will be released as battle Pokémon with two new sets of support Pokémon. One will feature Mega Rayquaza and Mimikyu while the other come with Mew and Celebi in support. There will also be new avatar clothing options available.

Aegislash will be able to switch between sword and sheild forms during battle with sword having Sting attack up close and shield strong ranged attacks.

Update coming for Pokkén Tournament DX

Nintendo has announced an update coming for Pokkén Tournament DX, including some additional content.

The planned features will include Online Team Battles in which players will be able to play with friends in teams online. You can pick three Pokémon each and head into battle to enjoy heated fights with other players. Official groups from Pokkén Tournament DX will be open in the Group Match online battle mode.

Coming soon after the update, there will be official Group Matches where players can battle to receive new special titles.

In Practice Mode’s Free Training, a new function to record Pokémon movements in battle will be added. You’ll be able to control the opposing Pokémon and record its movements so you can play them back when you’re training to help improve your skills.

Several other adjustments are in development which will help to improve gameplay.

More information on the Pokkén Tournament DX will be made available on the official website in the near future.

Nintendo of Canada coming to Fan Expo Toronto this weekend

Nintendo of Canada will be at Fan Expo Toronto this weekend, which takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from August 31st – September 3rd. The big N has a lot of activities lined up for people of all ages.

Super Mario Odyssey game will be playable and there will be giveaways, while quantities last. Plus people who pre-order Super Mario Odyssey game at the EB Games booth while at Fan Expo will receive a special edition Super Mario Odyssey poster as a gift with purchase (while supplies last). There will be a playable demo of the game at the convention as well as a Super Mario Odyssey Goomba Stack statue for all visitors to take photos with at the Nintendo booth.

Visitors to the Nintendo booth will have the chance to play other Nintendo games including ARMS, Splatoon 2 and two upcoming games Pokkén Tournament DX, and Metroid: Samus Returns.

Playable games scheduled to appear in the Nintendo booth at Fan Expo Toronto 2017 include Super Mario Odyssey, ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Pokkén Tournament DX for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo 3DS title Metroid: Samus Returns will also be playable.

Pokken Tournament DX Academy To be Featured At EVO 2017

Attendees of this year’s EVO Tournament won’t need to have trained up to a professional level to enjoy hands-on time with Nintendo’s upcoming enhanced port of Pokken Tournament thanks to the announcement of the Pokken Tournament Academy booth.

Visitors to the Pokken Tournament Academy booth can try out DX almost a full two months before it is released on September 22nd. Visitors will also be able to chat with members of the development team, enter a contest to win their own Nintendo Switch console and possibly most importantly receive a special invitation to a undisclosed Nintendo event taking place later this year at PAX West.

The original Wii U version of Pokken Tournament was released in July of 2015. Now two years later Nintendo is updating the game for their home console / portable hybrid, the Nintendo Switch, with the addition of previously DLC only Pokemon: Croagunk, Scizor, Empoleon, Darkrai and the DX exclusive Decidueye. New multiplayer centric modes have also been added to the DX version, to entice Trainers to battle against their friends on a whole new platform.

Pokkén Tournament DX coming to Nintendo Switch in September

During today’s Pokémon Direct presentation, Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, and Junichi Masuda, Director of GAME FREAK, announced upcoming Pokémon titles for Nintendo consoles.

Included in the announcement is the news that Pokémon is making its way to Nintendo Switch later this year with Pokkén Tournament DX. Along with all the content from both the Wii U and arcade versions of Pokkén Tournament, the Pokémon fighting game also introduces an array of exciting new features to create the ultimate Pokkén experience.
