Starpoint Gemini Warlords Enters Beta on Steam Early Access

Posted on April 18, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

Take to the stars with the ability to command your own personal Starship in Starpoint Gimini Warlords which entered beta on Steam Early access recently. In this brand new entry in the Starpoint series has been in development by Little Green Men Games on Early Access for just over a year now, and with a number of enhancements coming with the recently released beta the game is shaping up to be a space commander’s dream.

Starpoint Gemini Warlords allows players to take command of either a single ship or eventually an entire fleet all at once.  The game provides commanders a number of different options to live out their lives among the stars, below is just a small taste of what its sandbox-like world has to offer:

Fight!Players take direct control of their ship and are able to manually aim and fire their weapons. Commanders can also assign their weapons to NPC crew members while they focus on the execution of unique skills.

Upgrade!  – Player begin their career in space in a small vessel but can eventually train their way up to a carrier class ship complete with its own fighter wings.

Form Up! –  Once you’ve worked your way up the ship chain you can form fleets of ships complete with NPC wingmen.

Here are just a couple of the community requested enhancements that have made their way into the recently released Starpoint Gemini Warlords beta:

  • If players have the reputation with factions they can now engage in some side quests for rare loot.
  • As per the community’s request the target lock system has been redesigned, with visual feedback appearing on the player’s HUD to reflect the status of the current target.
  • Exploration has been enhanced to provide players with a more goal orientated approach, which they should find more rewarding.
  • Skills have been overhauled to allow players to view all 12 currently implemented skills, but they may only chose 4 active at a time. These can be reassigned with a stats re-roll.
  • Completely new soundtrack.

Starpoint Gemini Warlords is now in Beta and will be released on May 23rd. At that time the price of the game will increase to $34.99 USD from the current price of $29.99 USD.

Shovel Knight Amiibo To Be Released January 8th In North America

Posted on December 8, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Yacht Club Game’s Shovel Knight will make his amiibo debut on January 8th in North America and December 11th in Europe the developers have announced via their blog. The reason for the almost month long gap between launches in the two territories stems from an issue with the figure’s production. Rather than only ship a limited supply to North America for Christmas Nintendo & Yacht Club Games have decided to post-pone the figures release.

Once you get your hands on the blue digging hero what can he be used for? Here’s a rundown of everything you can do with your new blue friend once you have him:

Deep Customization with Custom Knight! (Wii U / 3DS Ver of Shovel Knight)

  • Level up to a max level of 50 by finding treasure!
  • Earn relics in an all new way while uncovering all-new relics, abilities, and powers you never thought possible!
  • Customize the look of your Shovel Knight with cool and crazy cosmetic options!
  • Use your Custom Knight seamlessly between Nintendo 3DS and Wii U!

Cooperative Multiplayer (exclusive to Wii U)

  • Join a friend’s Shovel Knight campaign and shovel together!
  • Use your cooperative skills to help each other out along the way!
  • Compete against each other collecting gold and defeating enemies to prove who is the true hero of Shovelry!
  • Play with any combination: two Custom Knights, one Custom Knight/one Classic Knight, or 2 Classic Knights.

Will compatibility for the Shovel Knight Amiibo go beyond the 3DS ports of the game that bears his name sake? Right now we don’t have a definite answer to that question – rumors surfaced last August before the official reveal of the figure suggesting that Shovel Knight may in fact appear in Smash. Nintendo has made no official announcement of Shovel Knight as a playable character in Smash Bros – the last officially announced character was Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII during last month’s Nintendo Direct.

Xbox One Launches November 22nd 2013

Posted on September 4, 2013 by Les Major

Microsoft announced today that their next-gen console will be released on November 22nd. The system, which it seems is unable to be pre-ordered anywhere anymore, retails for $500. This launch includes the initial launch markets of Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA. More markets will follow in 2014.

The Xbox 360 was released in the USA and Canada back in 2005, also on November 22nd. With day one exclusives like Dead Rising 3, a new Killer Instinct, and Ryse: Son of Rome, Microsofts latest system is looking very promising now that many DRM concerns that fans were against have been removed. The console does still come with Kinect but it seems the add on is no longer required.

It’s been a rough couple months for Xbox, but they have listened to their fans and most importantly have shown some very promising titles on the way.
