Retail release Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo pushed back

Posted on November 30, 2016 by Jason Nason

For those who didn’t pick up Animal Crossing: New Leaf before and are waiting for the updated retail release Welcome amiibo to hit stores, you may have to wait just a bit longer.

Originally scheduled to be released on Friday, December 2nd, now lists the release date just shy of a week later on December 8th. The move could possibly be to spread out Nintendo’s releases, with Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS also releasing on Friday.

For those who aren’t picky about getting a physical copy of the game, the game can still be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop, and the free update which adds all of the new updates (version 1.4) has been live in the eShop since last month. As well, the Player’s Choice edition of the original release should still be in stores and can also be updated via the eShop.

The new series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards are still scheduled to be released on December 2nd.
