Today hardware manufacturer MSI announced their version of the Geforce 1080 – based upon Nvidia’s brand new Pascal architecture. The card’s full name is the “Geforce GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G” and while that is a mouthful it is befitting for a card that boasts an architecture that by all available benchmarks will set a new standard for high-end cards.

In terms of technical features here is a quick rundown of what MSI’s GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G has to offer:

  • Base clock speed of 1700MHZ in OC mode boostable up to 1847 MHZ.
  • 8192 MB of GDDR5X memory with a bus speed of 5054Mhz
  • 1 HDMI Port
  • 3 Display Ports
  • 1 Dual Link DVI-D Port
  • VR Ready & Direct X 12 compliant

As for MSI exclusive design features, there are quite a few of note: Their Twin Frozr VI fan setup allows the card to receive up to 22% more air pressure.  The Geforce GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G also comes with a custom set of LEDs that can display a pre-set style and color of the owners choice. If you’ve got a large window in your case this card might just be the centerpiece!

No pricing information was available at presstime however, we have reached out to MSI to see what this card may retail for in the United States.
