MGS V “Tagging Demo” Is Absolutely Fantastic

Hideo Kojima’s next Metal Gear Solid title has had an enigmatic development cycle, originally revealed at  PAX 2012 and then followed up by a seemingly related mystery trailer at the Spike VGAs last year, fans have waited with baited breath for more information about the game. With the Tokyo Games Show coming to a close we’ve finally got our eyes on a brand new 12 minute gameplay clip – and you can too!

Featuring a “special mission” from Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, this new lengthy clip shows us how the tagging system works versus the original Metal Gear Solid’s Soliton Radar System. Instead of a small overhead section of the map displayed in the right hand corner of the screen Snake  has access to a small PDA type device that will display a map (sans enemies) without breaking the flow of gameplay or pausing. There are also two different mechanics that change how you monitor enemies movement and end alerts.  Bringing things in line a little bit with Splinter Cell Conviction while still retaining the tense stealth action the MGS franchise is known for.Read More
