Riddick is coming back

Posted on November 22, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Many fans were disappointed with the “conclusion” of the final Riddick film the self titled “Riddick”. The Necromonger story line wasn’t properly resolved and the excuse for why was flimsy at best. So fans will no doubt be excited to hear that another film has been greenlit. Vin diesel announced the film via Instagram along side  TV show to be called “Merc City” which will follow the mercenary companies of the Riddick universe.

Merc City is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe,”

he said. The show will be produced by a new TV subsidiary of Diesel’s own One Race Films production company.

The new film is to be called “Furia” which is the name of the planet that the hero is from, the same planet that the Necromongers committed a genocide on  in order to prevent Riddick from existing. David Twohy will return to  direct and Vin Diesel reported that he will begin to write the script this month. Riddick has been notably absent from game media recent with Assault on Dark Athena launched in 2009 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, being the last game to feature Riddick. Hopefully this means that we will be getting at least one more game staring the merc and his twin knives and sweet spot.
