There is no doubt that the trailer is absolutely gorgeous and action packed but the looming question is of course ‘does it represent the final game?’ with no gameplay footage available that is a question we don’t have the answer to right now. The wait for new content for Activision’s Destiny is almost over with the announcement of a May 19th release date on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 for the next expansion The House of Wolves. Alongside the release date news the publisher also released a two minute long prologue trailer to get us all hyped up to defend the galaxy once again.

Data-miners have already begun combing the latest patches to Destiny to try and find out what content will be available to those who purchase House of Wolves. Expected content includes at least three new story missions, one new strike “The Shadow Thief” and three new crucible maps “The Time Keeper”, “Thieves Den” and “Widow’s Court”.

This trailer was released the same day (Monday) as news broke that House of Wolves will not feature a third high level raid. Bungie issued the following statement via their website:

House of Wolves will not have a Raid activity. We didn’t make this decision lightly. Our team has been humbled by the reception of Raids in Destiny and we are creating a new Raid for a release later this year. House of Wolves will have a new cooperative end game activity focused on variety, replayability, and skill – a new battle Arena called The Prison of Elders.

Black Ops III Full Reveal Coming April 26th

Activision sent out a cryptic press release this morning that simply linking to a YouTube video with the hashtag #BackInBlack. Anyone who is familiar with the Call of Duty franchise will recognize the stylized “III” up in the header of this article as being very similar to the font used to promote Call of Duty: Black Ops II. We’ll find out what the pair of companies has planned when the game’s world reveal takes center stage on April 26!

It is important to note that Activision also partnered with popular Advanced Warfare YouTuber TmarTn for this reveal. Perhaps we will get more small glimpses of the game on his channel before the big reveal.

Earlier in the year there were a number of rumors that the next Call of Duty game would take place during World War 2. Perhaps Black Ops III will have us hoping between the near future and the battles of the Second World War?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Announced For Current Gen / PC

Square Enix took the wraps off of the latest entry in the Deus Ex franchise this morning with the announcement of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.  Human Revolution’s protagonist Adam Jensen returns in this latest cyberpunk action RPG set in the not-so distant future of 2029 – where the humankind is further divided between those who have cybernetic enhancements and those who do not.

This reveal was widely expected after Square’s #CantStopProgress marketing campaign kicked into gear three days ago with a mysterious twitch stream featuring individuals in solitary confinement. To be brutally honest I did not see the appeal in watching a fictionalized account of solitary confinement and torture to promote a videogame. Yet thousands of people did tuned into the twitch stream over the preceding 72 hrs… let’s remember that isolation in the prison system is a very real issue and to take the idea and use it for the promotion of a video game is beyond fucked up in my opinion. Code Name S.T.E.A.M | Review

One of the things that I appreciate is when Nintendo comes up with a new IP. Sure I love Mario and will never grow tired of games featuring this landmark character, but there’s something to be said for coming up with new games and new characters. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. could have easily been just another Nintendo game featuring Mario, but instead the company decided to introduce a whole new set of characters and it’s very welcome.

In Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. you’ll command a strike team of unexpected heroes – assembled by Abraham Lincoln himself – to defend Earth against an alien invasion! The game is a turn-based strategy game where you’ll take turns moving your characters around a playing field. After you make your series of moves the enemy will then take their turn. Winning each stage depends on what you do, and how well you can predict what your enemy will do.

Nintendo 64 Games Launching On The Wii U E-Shop

The Nintendo 64 didn’t get as much love as other classic Nintendo consoles in terms of Virtual Console in the 7th generation but hopefully the second time around is a bit better with the announcement of N64 games for the Wii U Virtual Console.

Announced for the VC were Super Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64. The former is available right now on the North American E-shop while DK64 is expected to launch sometime in the near future. Prices for N64 titles range from $6.99 to $9.99 USD.

Super Mario 64 launched on June 23rd 1996 and was released on the Nintendo DS in 2004. Donkey Kong 64 was released on November 24th 1999 and has yet to see a re-release on modern Nintendo consoles. Could this mean that other Rare greats like Perfect Dark or Jet Force Gemini could be re-released on the Wii U?
