First English Fire Emblem Awaking Trailer Burns

Big surprises and excitement was uncharacteristically absent from this morning’s North American Nintendo Direct broadcast. It did however offer the first English footage of next year’s Fire Emblem Awakening.

A new trailer shows off the strategy RPG’s gameplay and surprisingly ornate cutscenes. Also teased are bits of voice acting and battle cries. For Fire Emblem fans the combination of the series orchestral theme and english letters is a welcome sight.

Comments on the Nintendo Direct broadcast also mention that at least some of the game’s downloadable content will be making the journey west with the game.

No release date has been set for the hotly (get it, like fire? Fire Emblem?) anticipated stratagey game, but it is currently pegged with an early 2013 date.
