Chief Operating Officer for Capcom Europe Calls It Quits

David Reeves, Chief Operating Officer for Capcom Europe has stepped down from the Japanese publisher to further other opportunities, according to Game Informer.

Reeves joined Capcom in March 2010 and his position would have him working closely with the European executive branch of the company. During his time at the company Capcom released Super Street Fighter IV,  Street Fighter x Tekken, Marvel Vs Capcom 3 among other games.

Capcom’s fighting games have revitalized gamers’ interest in this once-dormant genre. Can they continue their success with a mash-up of two of the greatest fighting franchises in Street Fighter X Tekken? I got my mitts on the Vita version of the game and after spending several hours playing through the online, offline and extra modes I am ready to report on why you should or shouldn’t pick up Capcom’s latest.Read More

Welcome to “What’s New On The Shelf”, a hopefully weekly segment that gives you the rundown on all of the latest games to be released at retail in North America (with the exception of PC because let’s be realistic Digital Distribution owns that platform). For right now this only includes physically boxed product but hopefully we’ll expand this feature depending on how well it is received!

Street Fighter X Tekken Version 2013 Update

Announced during New York Comi-Con, Ono announced that Street Fighter X Tekken is receiving a balanced update like Super Street Fighter 4 AE before it, in the form of Street Fighter x Tekken Version 2013. Just like the SSF4 AE 2012 update, Street Figher X Tekken Version 2013 will be a free upgrade as well. Other than character balancing, the system is getting a few tweaks to improve the overall gameplay as the game has earned the ire from many players and it’s a reason many tournaments are slowly dropping the game from its schedule. For character balances, so far only fourteen character changes were announced but with a roster of 50 characters (55 on PS3) expect some announcements for the rest of the roster. Read More

Street Fighter X Tekken Crosses Assaults PC

Capcom’s latest fighting mashup Street Fighter X Tekken has been released for download for Windows PC the publisher confirmed this morning via press release. The game is already availabe on Gamers Gate and should be on Steam in due time. At the time of writing this does not appear to be the case however.

The Windows version of Street Fighter X Tekken includes the full roster of 38 characters that were featured in the Xbox 360 and PS3 releases from earlier this year. New to the PC version is the ability to play in 3D. Capcom also says that the PC version of SFXT features additional graphical options as well.Read More
