Next Xbox Reveal Due May 21st, 2013

Posted on April 24, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Rumors and anticipation of Microsoft’s next home console will wither to a halt on May 21st. This was confirmed today by Microsoft stating ‘A New Generation Revealed’ on Tuesday, May 21st at 1pm ET/10am PT/6pm GMT. The conference will stream on  Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE and on Spike TV for people in US and Canada.

I’m extremely excited, eager, and not so much concerned as I am intrigued to see what Microsoft has been cooking up for us. I like how they decided to not play games with Sony (who as you know took initiative to reveal first…without showing off the actual box) and are revealing the new console on their own terms despite fanboy criticisms of lack of information for the new Xbox.

Hopefully all of these rumors of “always online” and “no second-hand games” will be addressed. I personally don’t think it will be always online, I think they will allow the option for people who don’t have a decent connection to still play games. I’m pretty sure there won’t be a ban on used games either, but the question is if they are going to find a way around it to still make money off used game sales…We will see.

The next generation starts when Microsoft says it does, and that will be on May 21st. Stay tuned!

Gamestop CEO Says ‘Xbox 720’ Is HOT!

Posted on April 3, 2013 by Joshua Rust

And no, we don’t mean Red Ring Of Death hot either.  According to GameIndustry, who spoke with the Gamestop CEO over a earnings call, the retailer has been hand in hand with Microsoft and their unannounced next-gen console.

J. Paul Raines, the aforementioned CEO, had lots of positive things to say about Microsoft’s next console. Which is certainly great news for us as consumers. Especially regarding the “no used games” rumors that have set the gaming community on fire. I have my own thoughts on that as well if you care to take a gander. But to me this means that the no used games is out of the picture seeing how used games is a fair percentage of how Gamestop makes their money. If there happened to be that kind of software on the NextBox, I don’t see the CEO of Gamestop being to thrilled about it.Read More

“Next-Xbox” Beta Testing Is A Scam

Posted on March 14, 2013 by Joshua Rust

I’m pretty sure this goes without saying, but it’s better to report and save an individual from this scam than to let it slip by. So, I’m sure most of you probably have a Facebook account. Most of you gamers have probably seen where they are offering “Beta Testing” on the Next Xbox. Well, Microsoft, via Major Nelson, has confirmed that it is indeed a scam.

So make sure that you do NOT give out any information to these people. I’m sure that Microsoft already has plenty of people that have been Beta testing the new console for months, so please people…don’t give out your information. With that being said, we are eagerly awaiting any news regarding Microsoft’s next home console. It’s expected that news will be coming to the surface here within the next few weeks, so stay tuned!
