PlayStation Network Flash Sale Brings Discounts On AAA Titles

Posted on April 14, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

Sony has surprised fans with an Easter Weekend flash sale across all three platforms on the PlayStation Network. Several AAA tittles including multiple collections of remastered games are discounted up to 80%. If you missed out on playing the Uncharted Collection, the Prototype remasters or last years BioShock collection then you can snag them up while they’re all heavily discounted. If you are more of a portable fan there are far less deals that seem appealing, at least to me – the three exceptions being Crypt of the Necro-Dancer, Geometry Wars 3 and Shiren The Wanderer.

Over 100+ items have been discounted so I neglected to list them all in this post. Below are the deals that stood out to me but you can always wade through the multiple pages over on the PlayStation store.

Notable PS4 Games On Sale

  • Bioshock The Collection Remastered (Includes Bioshock: Infinite, Bioshock1 & Bioshock 2) – $39.99

Games For Gold Announced For August 2015

Posted on July 28, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

If you are a fan of action games than this month’s crop of free titles for Xbox Live’s Games With Gold might interest you.

First up for Xbox One – just before the launch of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is MGS V: Ground Zeroes for free from August 1st – 15th. Top down zombie apocalypse survival title How To Survive: Storm Warning Edition will be free from Aug 16th – August 31st.

Xbox 360 owners in for a bit of a treat with a pair of games from the folks at 4A Games. Both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light will be available during the first two weeks and last two weeks of August respectively

Microsoft is certainly killing it when it comes to AAA titles on their subscription service. MGSV: Ground Zeroes was already free for PlayStation Plus subscribers last month and Metro: Last Light appeared on Plus in 2014.

Metro: Last Light Offers Salvation

Posted on March 19, 2013 by Joshua Rust

I can’t stress enough how highly underrated Metro 2033 was – probably due to lack of top tier marketing and an overabundance of high profile shooters that made it pale in comparison to some. Well, it only scored a 77/100 on Metacritic, but it’s by far one of my top new IP’s of this generation of consoles (behind Borderlands lol). The sequel, titled Metro: Last Light, which was recently acquired by Deep Silver after THQ’s downfall is set to release May 14th, 2013.

Thankfully it looks like Deep Silver is fully behind this game as they are starting to hype the heck out of it, which the game fully deserves.Read More

Metro: The Last Light “Genesis” Trailer Comes Into The Light

Posted on December 12, 2012 by Joshua Rust

If you haven’t played Metro 2033 from 4A Games you are missing out on one of the greatest hidden gems on the Xbox 360 console. While it averaged a favorable reception from critics (earning a 77/100 on Metacritic across 83 reviewers), I still believe it’s one of the best un-established games that has come out in this generation of consoles. For those that haven’t played it, THQ is offering up a free steam code by “liking” their Facebook page – but the quantities are limited so hurry!

So apparently it did so well that it justified a sequel and rightly so! For those unfamiliar with the lore of this game, it is adapted from Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro 2033. For more information about the book, you can check out this wiki page. For those of you who have played the first game, I’m interested to hear what you thought about the first game and which ending you did?

Now, onto the trailer from the sequel – Metro: The Last Light

While an exact date hasn’t been narrowed down just yet, Metro: The Last Light is expected to launch March 2013.

Metro 2033 Heading To The Big Screen

Posted on September 14, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

THQ’s Metro 2033 is heading to the big screen with help from producer Mark Johnson and writer F. Scott Frasier, Kotaku reports.  Johnson has worked on the likes of  Chronicles of Narnia and  Galaxy Quest. Fraiser only have a few writing credits, all of them videogame related, dating back to 1997.

Metro 2003: Last Light, the next game in the post apocalyptic first person shooter franchise is due out sometime next year. Presumably the film and Last Light will have not tie into each other, as developing a feature film in under a year seems near impossible unless you are the asylum.

Metro Last Light’s Short Film Lets Us Watch The Bombs Drop

Posted on May 24, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Metro Last Light, the follow up to post apocalyptic first person shooter Metro 2033, might have been delayed until 2013 but that doesn’t mean the game shouldn’t come out swinging during the pre-e3 madness. In the latest live action short, released to promote the game, we follow average citizens of Moscow as the bombs begin to fall. As you would expect the world is full of panic as nuclear death quickly approaches!

Does this trailer have army dudes screaming at the citizens while brannishing an AK47? Yup, seems like an average day in Russia to me (kidding of course).

Check it out after the jump.Read More
