MGS V: Ground Zeroes Discounted To $20

Posted on October 30, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

Has the price for MGS V: Ground Zeroes kept you waiting for a discount? Just in time for Halloween, Konami has announced that all digital and physical copies of Ground Zeroes will be reduced to $19.99! Considering the game originally retailed for $39.99 USD for physical copies (or $44.99 if you live in the great white north) this new price point might be more appealing.

When we reviewed the game this past April we praised the brand new mechanics on display as well as the impressive graphics. The main story mission is rather short, clocking in at around 2 hours in length, but the extra missions do add some re-playability to Ground Zereos. If you’re looking to get a taste of MGS V before The Phantom Pain drops next year there is no other way to do it.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes | Review

Posted on April 5, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

Version Reviewed: PlayStation 3

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is one of those games that almost defies explanation, is it a “two hour demo” for The Phantom Pain as some have suggested? Or, is the game’s $29.99 price justified with the addition of optional side missions and bonus content? Certainly the game’s marketing gimmicks (*cough* Fake producer joakim mogren *cough*) have led to some confusion in the gaming community as to what exactly Ground Zeroes entails. Well I took Big Boss’ latest retail release for a spin and I’m ready to debrief you on why you should suit up for Snake’s latest.Read More

Next Gen Vs Current Gen: Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes

Posted on February 20, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

Want to take a look at how Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes compares between console generations? Well, wonder no longer because Konami has released a two minute comparison video that shows us the differences between the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Alongside this visual comparison, Konami also revealed the resolutions and frame rates for each version.

Next Generation players on either platform will be able to enjoy Ground Zereos at 60 frames per second but there are some caveats – only the PS4 version will run natively at 1080p. On current generation systems and the Xbox One the game will run at 720P. If you’re sporting a last generation system the game will run at 30 FPS and 720P.

From the multiple viewings of this trailer that I watched prior to the publication of this article the major differences between the two generations, FPS and resolution aside, appear to be more realistic lighting, cleaner shadows and higher resolution textures in the next gen version.

Which version will you be picking up? We’ll be reviewing the PlayStation 3 build of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes shortly after release. The game will be out on March 18th in North America and March 20th in Europe.  Make sure to check out Konami’s video after the jump.Read More
