Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection coming to consoles/PC on January 21

Posted on September 3, 2019 by Jason Nason

Heroes from the Mega Man universe unite in Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection coming in the new year. All four Mega Man Zero games, Mega Man ZX, and Mega Man ZX Advent are being offered together for the first time on the Xbox One PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The collection will be available at MSRP $29.99 USD on January 21st, 2020 both digitally and at retail locations for consoles. PC players will be able to purchase the digital edition on Steam.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection brings the Zero and ZX series’ challenging boss battles, fast-paced platforming, and precise combat from hand-held to full-sized screens for the first time. The Mega Man Zero games were originally released for the GameBoy Advance and the ZX games were released for the Nintendo DS.

Nostalgic players can choose to play using the original sprite art, or they can bash some bots using the new optional HD-smoothing filters. New players looking to cut a path through the Zero and ZX series’ stories can also use the optional Casual Scenario mode to reduce each game’s difficulty, and Save-Assist system to create save points mid-mission for a more approachable narrative experience.

Players can also take a break from the action, and dive into the in-game gallery featuring over 600 pieces of original production art from each series, while listening to the music player’s complete selection of both original compositions and new arrangements. Fans of the series looking for a challenge will also be able to test their “Biometal” against the all new Z Chaser challenge mode. More details on Z Chaser mode will be revealed at a later time.

Broken Bootlegs- Rockman X3

Posted on June 2, 2016 by Erika

Rockman X3 title card

Broken Bootlegs is a weekly series covering unlicensed games (also known as bootleg games) for mainly 8-bit and 16-bit consoles. This week’s edition covers a fun, but somewhat unfinished MegaDrive game, Rockman X3

While many of us are familiar with X and his escapades in destroying Sigma, only to have to destroy him again in the following game, the Mega Man X series (known originally as Rockman X in Japan), has seen many a release across various platforms. While having played several of the Mega Man and X series for the SNES and Playstation, I noticed that Sega’s 16-bit system didn’t get much love, with only The Wily Wars being released, and even then, it was only available for the Sega Channel in the US. With Rockman X3 receiving multiple ports for systems like SNES, PS1, and Saturn, the Genesis never saw an official release, so it was bootleggers to the rescue!Read More

Already looking beautiful just from the concept art, Mighty No. 9 stars Beck as the ninth in a line of robots, and the only one who hasn’t gone berzerk from a computer virus affecting mechanized creatures around the world.Read More
