Batgirl DLC On Route To Injustice: Gods Among Us

Posted on May 10, 2013 by Les Major

Revealed by an accidental Xbox Live listing as shown here Nether Realm has since revealed that Batgirl will indeed be a DLC character. The Mortal Kombat developer stated “Looks like the bat’s out of the bag. Batgirl is a playable DLC character in Injustice. Catch her gameplay next week!” This brings us up to two of four DLC characters we know of with Lobo being the first announced who will be released on May 7th. He was announced when the game was released presumably (spoilers) due to his inclusion in one of the characters ending sequences in battle mode.

Saints Row IV Lets You Battle Aliens As The President

Posted on May 10, 2013 by Les Major

It’s no surprise with this quirky series that takes itself less and less seriously with each sequel, but yes, this time you are the president (seemingly still in your Saints Row custom character lead) fighting an alien race known as the Zin. The game isn’t that far off either, set to be released on August 20th for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC! Check out the newly released, “Meet The President,” trailer after the break. This will be the first Saints Row release after Deep Silver picked up the series as it’s new publisher in the unfortunate auctioning off of THQ’s

First Gameplay Of Hellraid Emerges

Posted on May 8, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Announced just a little over a week ago was Hellraid, coming from developer of the popular Dead Island franchise, Techland. Hellraid is essentially Dead Island meets Skyrim with four player co-op – which sounds like a win-win to me.  Here is how the game is described on the official website in terms of playable classes: Play in cooperation in a team of four heroes with different skills and weapon capabilities. Slaughter enemies with swords and axes as a Warrior. Heal and protect your friends with the Paladin’s defensive magic. Burn, freeze and electrocute demons with the Mage’s staff and kill

Wolfenstein: The New Order Announced By Bethesda

Posted on May 7, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Bethesda Softworks released a surprise announcement today, that is they are publishing a new Wolfenstein game. Titled Wolfenstein: The New Order, it is in development at Swedish developer MachineGames (which was founded back in 2009 by founders of Starbreeze Studios). This new installment of Wolfenstein is set in an alternate universe where the Nazi’s won World War II and this game is thought as the “reimagining” of the franchise. So a new studio takes over a great franchise and hopefully they will make something spectacular of it – unlike the most recent attempt which received a 72/100 average over at Metacritic. With

Krieg, The Pyscho Arrives May 14th For Borderlands 2

Posted on May 6, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Borderlands 2 will receive it’s second downloadable character (making the total six) on May 14th, 2013. This has just been confirmed via the ECHOcast on Twitter, which it appears that Krieg the Psycho has taken over! For those who love this game, such as me, this is a great way to get people back into the game and tide them over until the fourth campaign DLC releases. So, get ready for May 14th when You. Meat. Krieg.

Disney and EA Announce Multi-Year Star Wars Games Partnership

Posted on May 6, 2013 by Joshua Rust

The House Of Mouse and publishing giant Electronic Arts have agreed to multi-game and multiyear agreement that will put the Star Wars brand in the hands of studios like Visceral, DICE, & Bioware. Of course Bioware is no stranger as they have put out one of the best Star Wars games ever created, in my opinion, Star Wars: The Knights Of The Old Republic. No, I’m not talking about that MMO one either. Unfortunately, I don’t think this means that the impressive and promising Star Wars 1313 game will be resurrected – but one can hope. Electronic Arts will be

Posted on May 5, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Warner Bros Interactive, publisher of the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins have released a collection of five brand new screenshots. These new stills give us a glimpse into the world that Warner Bros Montreal is crafting using resources from the original developers Rock Steady. Gotham swat teams pose for action in a smokey alleyway as the Dark Knight watches from the mist in one screenshot. In another, we see Batman about to square off against the mercenary known as DeathStroke. These screenshots convey a lot of emotion and tension. Make sure to check them all out after the jump. May The 4th Be With You: BattleFront III Livestream

Posted on May 4, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Celebrate Star Wars Day with over an hour of footage from the defunct Star Wars: Battlefront III. Twitch TV channel, Past to Present (P to P) decided to celebrate the popular sci-fi staple by live streaming over an hour of new content from a pre-alpha build of the cancelled combat game. What a better way to celebrate a storied franchise than to get an in-depth glimpse into of the most requested Star Wars titles ever. Originally developed by the now closed Free Radical Studioes, Battlefront III was a current generation combat game set in the Star Wars Universe. The first

New GTA V Details Confirmed

Posted on May 2, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Grand Theft Auto V isn’t due out until September, you can bet that new information will keep flowing in on a regular basis to keep you somewhat satisfied – though we all know it’s never going to be enough until the game is in our hand. But, nothing we can do about that so what we can do is bring you some of the new details. Just yesterday Rockstar released three new trailer (which are combined together in our news story, you can find here) showing off a little backstory to each of the three playable characters. It appears that

Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep Revealed As Borderlands 2 Fourth Campaign DLC

Posted on May 2, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Anthony Burch, writer for Gearbox, posted a picture that teased what is to come for the next piece of campaign DLC via twitter (which has since been removed). Regardless of the removed picture, the fourth piece of Borderlands 2 DLC (that is part of the Season Pass) has been revealed to day and is confirmed as “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep.” Owners of the Season Pass will get this as part of their “four campaign add-ons” when they purchased the Season Pass, others will have to fork out 800 MSP ($10).

What Does A Rich Guy, Gangster, & A Redneck Have In Common…?

Posted on April 30, 2013 by Joshua Rust

They are all of the main protagonist’s you will play in the next installment of Grand Theft Auto, of course! I’m willing to bet that many of you are eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto V, and I have to say that I’m including in the general consensus of that as well. Every time Rockstar announces another GTA game, I think about what could really do to make the next installment even better? Turns out Rockstar always has an answer to that question. This time Rockstar will place you in the lives of not one, not two, but

Hellraid Is Dead Island Developer’s New Game, Coming This Year

Posted on April 30, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Dead Island developer Techland has announced it will be launching a new IP later this year titled: Hellraid.  From what I can gather it’s a mix of Dead Island’s combat style mixed up with some might and magic set in a dark universe. With Dead Island: Riptide just being released, it came as a bit of a surprise that Techland would announce another game so soon…but seeing how it’s slated to release on Xbox 360, PS3, & PC this year it shouldn’t be a surprise because it’s obviously been in development for some time.

Voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, Will Not Return In Arkam Origins

Posted on April 29, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Fans of Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman – since the 1990s animated series, will be disappointed that he will not be reprising his role as The Dark Knight in the latest game, Batman: Arkham Origins.  This report originates from South African magazine NAG, which claims that “[Warner Bros. wants] to use a new younger actor because the game features Batman in his early years”. Batman: Arkham Origins was unveiled earlier this month and tells the story of the early days of the caped crusader, capturing his first interactions with some of his most famous rivals. Development of Origins is underway

Call of Duty: Ghosts Spotted In Multiple Retail Advertisements

Posted on April 24, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Call of Duty Ghosts seemed to vanish from the rumor mill for the last few weeks, but all of that has changed with multiple retailers mentioning the game in new advertisements. Both the U.S based Target and U.K based Tesmo featured the game predominately in their latest fliers. We’ve learned that the game could be released on November 5th with a suggested retail price of $59.99. Supposedly Call of Duty Ghosts will take place in a near future society that is forced to use modern weapons due to some kind of catastrophe. Apparently the game may also make modifications to

Injustice: DLC Among Us

Posted on April 23, 2013 by Jason Fayta

Injustice: Gods Among Us has been out for a week, and for some, it may be too soon to start discussing downloadable content. Well, not for Ed Boon, the creative director at NetherRealm Studios, developer of Injustice. Ed has confirmed that Lobo, everyone’s favorite alien bounty hunter, will be the first character available to purchase. In addition to Lobo, three additional characters are planned, and the internet is full of speculation as to which characters will be revealed. The staff here at Broken Joysticks has cast their votes, and here are our top picks.
