Sony’s Summer Sale Begins Tomorrow

Posted on July 1, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Summer isn’t typically a time  when new releases are blazing the sales charts, why not beat the heat with some old favorites at a discount price?  Sony will be launching their summer sale, Summer Blast, starting tomorrow and running until the 16th with the deals changing up the following Tuesday. Some older games are available for $9.99 or less including Prince of Persia Classics Trilogy ($8.00 PS Plus/ $15 regular), Alice Madness Returns ($4.00 PS Plus / $7.99 Regular) and Fight Night Champion ($6.00 PSN Plus/ $11.99 regular). If newer games are your thing you can snag Call Of Duty

Assault Dragon Keep Today In Borderlands 2

Posted on June 25, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Today is the day! The final piece of Season Pass DLC for Borderlands 2 has hit the marketplace just waiting for you to download it. If you’re feeling conflicted on whether or not to buy this (if you don’t already have the Season Pass), you can check out this developer diary and see what they have to say about it. Personally I’m stoked about it because as I’ve stated many times before, it combines two of my favorite things gaming related: Borderlands & Fantasy. To celebrate the releases of “Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep”, Gearbox has released a launch trailer:

Ellen Page Unhappy About The Last of Us’ Ellie Resembling Her

Posted on June 24, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Ellen Page, the actress probably best known for roles as Kitty Pride/Shadow Cat in the X-Men franchise and the titular character in Juno is unhappy about her likeness possibly being used for Ellie from Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us. Recently a question about her likeness being used for the initial design of Ellie was brought up during a Reddit AMA (“Ask Me Anything”)

Borderlands 2 – Assault On Dragon Keep Dev Diary

Posted on June 20, 2013 by Joshua Rust

The final piece of DLC in the Borderlands 2 series is nearly here. In fact, it releases next week. If you happened to miss out on the Krieg gameplay video, I highly suggest you check it out here. I’m anticipating Assault On Dragon Keep to be the best of the four DLC’s for quite a few reasons. The most important one is because it’s in Tiny Tina’s ever imaginative head. Yeah, imagine living inside that kids head… Another reason is because this download is the Borderlands version of Dungeons & Dragons, complete with dragons, wizards, golems, and more. Everything you

Microsoft’s Xbox One Does A 180

Posted on June 19, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Sony had a big advantage going into the next generation console war. Today, however, the clear favored Sony Playstation 4 might actually get some competition after all as Microsoft has announced an update to their Xbox One policies. Microsoft took a hard blow at E3 when Sony announced that the Playstation 4 would not require a constant online connection and that you can “pass a game to someone standing beside you, yeah that’s how we trade.” I won’t lie, I’m a Microsoft fan and truthfully some of the policies didn’t bother me because they didn’t affect me. BUT, I do

The Elder Scrolls Online Headed To Xbox One & PS4

Posted on June 12, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Proof that developers and publisher still believe that MMO’s can work on consoles. Defiance has started off on a pretty good note, it lacks a little depth after putting in about 100+ hours but it’s still proof that they can work on a console. So, nothing makes me happier to confirm that Bethesda is bringing The Elder Scrolls Online to both the Xbox One & Playstation 4 – targeted at a 2014 release date. Straying from the traditional single player formula, TESO looks like it could be the next World Of Warcraft. Question remains, can they keep the integrity of what

Bungie Showcases First Gameplay For Destiny

Posted on June 11, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

At Sony’s E3 press conference last night former Halo developers, Bungie, took the stage to show off their latest title, the persistent online world of Destiny. They also released a brief three minute trailer this morning, if you’d like a condensed look at how the game will run on the PlayStation 4.  Bungie’s E3 demonstration is great, though, featuring over ten minutes of never before seen gameplay. There’s lots of large flashy guns, sci-fi enemies oh and our first look at how instances (called ‘Public Events’) will work in Destiny. The world of Destiny takes you hundreds of years into the

Sony Shocks The Gaming World With $399 PS4 Price

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Andrew House could have just dropped his microphone and walked away from the end of the 2 hour PlayStation E3 press conference, after announcing that the PlayStation 4 will retail for $399 USD. Sony has single handedly given themselves a giant advantage over Microsoft, whom this morning priced their console at $499. It’s almost as if this end of conference surprise makes up for the “$599 U.S Dollars” controversy seven years ago. Sony’s execs also took shots at Microsoft by announcing, via slides, that their console will support used games, has no online activation or the need to “phone home”

No You’re Not Dreaming, Square Enix Announces Kingdom Hearts III

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Square Enix surprised everyone with a “wait one more moment”, announcing a sequel that everyone has been waiting 8 years for. No, I’m not talking about a remake of Final Fantasy VII, based off of the 2006 tech demo, but the return of Sora and Mickey Mouse in Kingdom Hearts 3. Details are scant, we don’t know much about the game except that it will debut on the PlayStation 4 at some point in the future. Check out the first trailer after the jump, oh and make sure you bring a change of pants.

PlayStation 4 Console Design Revealed

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Sony Executive Andrew House took the stage just moments ago to announce the console design for the PlayStation 4. Gamers have been waiting since February to see the design of the console, which may sit under their televisions in just a few short months. Honestly, my first reaction, is that the console looks like a beefed up PlayStation 2. This isn’t a bad thing, Sony asking us to call back to a time when they dominated the console market isn’t a bad thing, perhaps the PS4 will catapult them back to the front of pack. Check out an up close

Open World Gameplay In New Metal Gear Solid V – Phantom Pain

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Les Major

To no surprise, Metal Gear Solid V which was the title this years E3 Xbox press conference started with, looks like an incredibly fun Kojima Productions title. Taking the series into an open world seems to allow for more recon and scouting out an area before diving in to complete your mission. Stealth is of course a huge element in the game as with most Metal Gear titles. The gameplay shown even demonstrated how Snake could lean on his horse to obscure himself and avoid detection from passerbys. A list of the usually awesome Kojima Production opposition was shown including

Phil Spencer Wears State Of Decay Teeshirt

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Les Major

During the intro to Ryse, which looks absolutely fantastic, Phil Spencer who is head of Microsoft Studios was wearing a State of Decay teeshirt. I realize this is really missing the point of the tons of news that was released during this press conference, but it was cool to see a nod to XBLA’s latest game by Undead Labs. Of course, many of us are anticipating Last Of Us which releases tomorrow for PS3. It’s possible to speculate that State of Decay was a way for Microsoft Studios to give their fans a zombie game exclusive to their console. Especially

Watch_Dogs CGI Trailer Leaks Before Ubisoft Conference

Posted on June 9, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Get an advanced look at Ubisoft’s Watch_Dogs before their official E3 conference tomorrow at 3PM, thanks to the leak of the game’s E3 trailer. Sadly the whole thing is CGI, and doesn’t contain an ounce of gameplay, but perhaps an on stage demo will after this trailer is screened. The trailer deals with protagonist Aiden Pearce hunting down an alleged Human Trafficker whom we see in the trailer is using the excuse of being “stuck in the office”, as his excuse to manage an elaborate human trafficking facility. I don’t want to spoil anymore about the trailer, but needless to

Next Tekken Game Free to Play, Out This Tuesday on PSN

Posted on June 9, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

The Iron Fist tournament goes free to play this coming Tuesday with the announcement of Tekken Revolution for the PlayStation Network. In a bit of a surprise announcement, Namco Bandai announced the title yesterday, with a release date just a few days from now. So, right in the middle of E3 you can beat the living crap of people in this latest Tekken title. Eight characters have been confirmed for Revolution, all of them returning from previous games, including Asuka, Jin, Lilly, Steve Fox and more. Players will be able to level up their characters in a variety of categories

Screenshots From Private Battlefield 4 Alpha Surface

Posted on June 9, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Electronic Art’s latest Battlefield game isn’t exactly a secret, in fact when the game was unveiled a few months ago they treated us all to over ten minutes of in-game footage taken from the single player campaign.  What is concerning is that someone has leaked almost a dozen screenshots from an internal Alpha build right before E3. While none of the details presented are confirmed, these screenshots hint at some exciting new features for this military franchise. As others have pointed out, a few screenshots in the gallery make allusions to enhanced knife, gun and character customization. BF4 may also
