Techland has their hands occupied it seems. With this weeks release of Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger on XBLA, PSN, & PC and the newly announced Hellraid, who would’ve thought that they had another game in the works?
Today Techland, developer of the amazing Dead Island franchise, has announced yet another game: Dying Light. Techland has teamed up with Warner Bros. (who is apparently publishing the game) to bring this new IP to PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2014. So what is this new IP, Dying Light, all about? (more…)

The game is destined for next generation platforms, like the PS4 and Xbox One, as well as current gen machines. Developed by Critereon Games (of 2010 Need For Speed and the Burnout Franchise) will be handling development duties targeting a November 19th release for the current generation consoles and “later this year” for next-gen.
Need For Speed: Rivals is powered by D.I.C.E’s impressive Frostbite 3.0 engine, which has allowed Critereon to craft a visually impressive game, complete with roadworthy physics. New to the series is a feature known as “alldrive”, which allows users to join and drop from friend’s game worlds instantly. The developers have already stated there will be differences between the current generation and next-gen versions in terms of alldrive, including the number of simotanous players, with more details expected to be released at E3.
We’ve got a small gallery of screenshots featuring several famous automobiles like Ferrari, Austin Martin and Porsh, as well as a trailer, after the jump. (more…)
Posted in: Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony Tags: Announcement, Electronic Arts, Need For Speed Rivals, PS4, Xbox OneThis could quite possibly be some of the best news I’ve heard in quite a while in regards to Electronic Arts (EA). It’s been known for quite a while that EA’s upcoming game Fuse will not require an Online Pass to play the multiplayer component of the game, but who knew that EA was actually listening to its fan base (for lack of a better word) when we say that Online Passes suck!
According to a recent interview with GamesBeat, EA senior director of corporate communications John Reseburg, told them that, “Yes we’re discontinuing Online Pass. None of our new titles will include that feature.”
I think the question remains is how EA will get around this. It’s not a matter of “if”…just “how” and “when”. This could have something to do with the possible success of micro-transactions through games like Mass Effect 3 and Dead Space 3. But, either way it’s good to see that they are doing away with these Online Passes that were “supposed to extend the server life” of games because the them being bought used. Which we all know that didn’t happen as most of the game servers are still taken down pretty much two years after the games have been released – mostly sports titles though.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on EA getting rid of the Online Passes? Perhaps EA is trying to get back on the right track with consumers…?

For the Season Pass holders, you should know the deal by now, you will get 5 DLCs at a reduced price. But the question always remains: Is that content going to be good enough to warrant my purchase of the Season Pass?
Well, I know this is just the first DLC but it looks like Trion Worlds will be doing everyone justice. Not only for the Season Pass holders, but there will also be free DLC so that it won’t isolate friends from playing with each other regardless of what content each other have. Which is a good thing seeing how Defiance has now surpassed over 1 million registered users and I’m quite sure that many of them are waiting it out to see what kind of DLC we will get from the Season Pass. With the success that the first game on this generation of consoles it was only a matter of time before another one would be on the way. This game is not a direct sequel, in fact it’s not even played from the same perspective. At it’s core, The Bureau is still an XCOM game, but a few changes have been added to make use of the first person perspective that the game is played in. (more…)

The Mortal Kombat developer stated “Looks like the bat’s out of the bag. Batgirl is a playable DLC character in Injustice. Catch her gameplay next week!”
This brings us up to two of four DLC characters we know of with Lobo being the first announced who will be released on May 7th. He was announced when the game was released presumably (spoilers) due to his inclusion in one of the characters ending sequences in battle mode. (more…)

The game isn’t that far off either, set to be released on August 20th for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC!
Check out the newly released, “Meet The President,” trailer after the break. This will be the first Saints Row release after Deep Silver picked up the series as it’s new publisher in the unfortunate auctioning off of THQ’s franchises. Volition is still at the helm however, so fans who love the series progression have no reason to fear. (more…)

Hellraid is essentially Dead Island meets Skyrim with four player co-op – which sounds like a win-win to me. Here is how the game is described on the official website in terms of playable classes:
Play in cooperation in a team of four heroes with different skills and weapon capabilities. Slaughter enemies with swords and axes as a Warrior. Heal and protect your friends with the Paladin’s defensive magic. Burn, freeze and electrocute demons with the Mage’s staff and kill with precision of the Rogue’s crossbow.
Today Techland released a brief gameplay trailer showing off a glimpse of what the combat in Hellraid will be like. Which, the entire combat system was taken from the Dead Island game and implemented into this game. For the trailer keep reading after the jump. (more…)

Titled Wolfenstein: The New Order, it is in development at Swedish developer MachineGames (which was founded back in 2009 by founders of Starbreeze Studios).
This new installment of Wolfenstein is set in an alternate universe where the Nazi’s won World War II and this game is thought as the “reimagining” of the franchise. So a new studio takes over a great franchise and hopefully they will make something spectacular of it - unlike the most recent attempt which received a 72/100 average over at Metacritic.
With the announcement of the Wolfenstein: The New Order is of course a new trailer, which you can see after the jump!
