Farm 51 and Nordic Games are partnering up again for another game called Deadfall Adventures. If the two names together sound familiar, well that’s because they both are collaborating on Painkiller: Hell & Damnation (which is set to launch in April of this year). So what is this Deadfall Adventures? Read on to find out. (more…)Posted in: Microsoft, News, PC Tags: Deadfall Adventures, Farm 51, Nordic Games
Hideo Kojima is more excited about interaction than hardware it seems. In a recent interview with IGN, Kojima states that he is more excited in the social and long ranged feature sets of the Playstation 4 saying:

I can say that with every new generation of hardware the capabilities of the hardware increases. But up to this point it’s always been very much of a vertical evolution – of course, you expect things like visual fidelity, audio, frame rate. New features such as 3D capability, etc, etc. These things are a given. They come with the new hardware.”
Quite a few things released today including a new Wii U eShop title, the 3DS demo for the new Castlevania game, as well as a few new 3DS eShop titles. Plus Fractured Soul is on sale, time is running out to pick up the FREE DLC for Fire Emblem and a new release is up for WiiWare in the old school inspired Retro City Rampage. Capcom today confirmed that following the release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Nintendo Wii U on March 19, a software update will be released a month later in April. The announcement comes in response to community feedback.
The software update will add online cross-region functionality, allowing North American and European gamers to play together online in up to four-player battles. Monster Hunters will also be able to play the game using just the Wii U GamePad without the need for a TV screen as the software update makes the title compatible with off-TV play. Capcom will be continuing to support Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for several months after release with additional free of charge downloadable quests. The first quest will be available at launch. The next entry the annual Assassin’s Creed franchise will be a full fledged numbered sequel. Unveiled on Ubisoft’s facebook page the game is titled Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and the reveal image conveys very clearly that the game will revolve around piracy in some fashion.
It is unknown if the game will star AC III’s Connor or if the game features a new protagonist, but the protagonist’s clothing is awfully similar to Connor’s garb. Also given the end of the AC III, it will be interesting how sections that take place in the future work out (without spoiling anything major). It’s never easy hearing about a publisher, developer, or anyone in the gaming industry (let alone anyone at all) lose their jobs. Such was the case with THQ as the publishing titan came crashing down. Speculation could be pointed at their failed attempt to make uDraw the next big thing, but just one thing isn’t the cause of their unfortunate demise.
Just a short while ago most of the bigger name franchises were auctioned off, such as Saint’s Row, Homefront, & Metro. To my biggest surprise, Darksiders was nowhere on the list of being picked up by anyone. Granted the second game wasn’t that much different that the first one, but it was a solid game.
It looks like Darksiders will get a second chance at redemption as the rest of THQ’s properties will auctioned off soon and will be in their new homes before the end of April. Here’s hoping that Platinum Games picks up Darksiders…I’m willing to bet they could pull off an amazing sequel. I really wouldn’t mind someone picking up Full Spectrum Warrior as well and making a sequel/do-over.
For a full list of all the properties that are up for grabs, keep reading after the break.Posted in: Microsoft, News, Nintendo, PC, Sony Tags: Darksiders, Full Spectrum Warrior, Homeworld, Red Faction, Summoner, thq, THQ Auction, Worms
Nothing and I mean nothing gets by you all on the internet. Insomniac Games has silently registered a trademark for Sunset Overdrive. Even though the studio has went on to publicly announce that it will not be continuing the Resistance franchise, they do have the upcoming (recently delayed) action packed co-op shooter Fuse which is setting at a tentative Spring 2013 release date.
While nothing specific has been announced on Sunset Overdrive, the details from the filed trademark list “computer game software” and “entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game”. So while Insomniac Games is “done” with Resistance, they apparently do have something in the pipeline for us. It’s just a matter of when it will be officially unveiled. We all know that GDC is coming up along with E3…so those look like opportune moments for us to hear more about Sunset Overdrive.
We’ll keep our ears open and report back when we find anything concrete about this potential game.Posted in: Microsoft, News, PC, Sony Tags: Fuse, Insomniac Games, Resistance, Sunset Overdrive
I don’t know if many of you have even heard of Edge Of Twilight, but I’ve been following this series of games for a long time – in fact since about 2009. Yeah, it’s been that long. Well the original game was canceled back in 2009 and the studio went under. Well, through a new partnership a reformed FUZZYEYES studio arose in 2011 and not only has promised to deliver us an Edge Of Twilight game, but several of them across various platforms.
For those unfamiliar with Edge Of Twilight, here is how the FUZZYEYES site describes it:
“The EDGE OF TWILIGHT series is a multiplatform, diverse-genre series of steampunk titles, all taking place in the same world, one in which night and day exist as separate realms. The series will not commit to a set genre, but instead focus on a set world, flushing out the characters, world, and story throughout the series. The first title, which is set for release in late 2012, will carry the name of the series itself, EDGE OF TWILIGHT, and will focus around Lex, a half-breed who can bridge the gap between the realms of darkness and light. This forthcoming title will be an action/adventure game with heavy focus on gameplay, story, and puzzles.”Posted in: Mobile, News Tags: Edge Of Twilight, Edge Of Twilight: Athyr Above, FUZZYEYES Entertainment, IOS
