Dead Island Developers Announce: Project Hell

Posted on August 30, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Techland, famous for that little game we know as Dead Island, has announced that they have a “side project” that they are working on to launch as a new IP – codenamed: Project Hell.

Project Hell started off as a weapon mod for Dead Island. It has grown into a side project that a dedicated team of developers are trying to bring to life in the form of a new IP.

Combining the fighting mechanics of Dead Island and adding magic (literally) we created a powerful mixture – a dark fantasy FPP hack’n’slash. We want to travel back to the times when enemies were really hideous and repulsive, the fights were brutal and bloody and the gameplay was challenging and rich with secrets waiting to be uncovered.

Designer and Project Manager of Project Hell had this to say in the official blog:

“Our main goal is to make a game we can all enjoy playing so don’t expect unicorns and fairies – we prefer breaking through hordes of undead minions only to slaughter their devilish and loathsome masters in a bloody boss-fight.”

Unfortunately for us console users, it’s currently only in development for PC. But, developer Techland said that could change depending on how the game received by everyone. Here’s hoping it is well received because it sounds like a bloody good time!
