Assassins Creed 3 Delayed on PC?

Posted on June 23, 2012 by Kirk Williford

It’s become almost tradition for the PC releases of Assassin’s Creed titles to arrive a bit later than their console counterparts, although Ubisoft has always insisted this is never their goal. Last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations saw the closest release between PC and consoles for the series yet, although PC gamers still had to wait two weeks longer to experience the conclusion to Ezio’s story.

According to Eurogamer, the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 3 has been delayed. Citing promotion materials obtained by Eurogamer.cz, it appears that PC gamers will have to wait a little over 3 weeks longer than console gamers to play the next game in the AC franchise. The console version is scheduled to ship on October 31st — the new date for the PC version appears to be November 23rd.

Ubisoft refused to comment on the release date for the PC version of the game. It’s been long speculated that the delays have been out of concern of piracy, in order to assure more sales on consoles.

Next Diablo III Patch Will Fix Digital Purchase Restrictions

Posted on June 23, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Blizzard’s last patch to Diablo III introduced some restrictions for players who decided to buy the game digitally. As it stands right now, players who purchased the game through Battle.net are only able to access the games first Act and are capped at level 13, they are also not able to play launch public games, gain access to the auction house and cannot make use of the public chat channel available to other players.

The auction house limitations, chat restrictions and other communication barriers were intentional but blizzard says that new digital purchases to be able to access more of the games content. Restricting players to level 13 and Act I ( namely the Skeleton King)  was an unintended bug and will be fixed with the next patch.

Click the jump for a full list of restrictions that will be remain in place for up to 72 hours for those who purchased D3 digitally.

Say Hello To The Nintendo 3DS LL

Posted on June 21, 2012 by Kirk Williford

In one of the more surprising post-E3 twists, Nintendo announced today via their “Nintendo Direct” conference that a version of the Nintendo 3DS with a 90%-larger screen will be released next month in Japan.

Dubbed the Nintendo 3DS LL, the system, the top screen measures in 4.88 inches — A full 90 percent larger than it’s regular 3DS counterpart. The bottom screen is 4.18 inches, also 90% larger. The battery life is measured between 3.5 and 6.5 hours for 3DS games, compared to the regular 3DS’s 3 to 5 hours. Normal DS game battery life is between 6 to 10 hours.

Nintendo announced that in an attempt to cut production costs, they will sell the AC adapter separately; however, the regular 3DS AC adapter will work fine.

The 3DS LL arrives in Japan on July 28th and will come in three colors — White, Red X Black, and Silver X Black. It’ll retail for 18,900 yen — which is only about $40 more than a regular 3DS.

In America, the 3DS LL arrives on August 19th and will retail for $199.99. At only a $30 increase from the normal 3DS, is there really an excuse to not pick up this version of the hardware?

Nintendo Hands Over The Smash Bros Series To Namco Bandai

Posted on June 21, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Are you still wondering why the previously announced 3DS/Wii-U Smash Bros game did not make an appearance at this year’s E3? Well it turns out that is because Nintendo isn’t developing the game. That is not to say that long time series director Sakurai won’t have any input but the development details have been handed over to Namco Bandai.

More specifically the Ridge Racer team will be working on the title. Honestly, I am not sure how to take this news. Namco produces some of my favorite games, namely the Tales Of series, however the quality of the more recent Ridge Racer games have been lacking.

Perhaps they will launch the next Smash game with 5 characters and the rest will come to the Nintendo E-Shop in downloadable packs? Just like the PS Vita version of Ridge Racer…

Anime girls with giant boobs, they are a dime a dozen right? Well they usually aren’t this detailed, that is for sure. Atlus’ next strategy RPG Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time for the PSP brings some very detailed and colorful traditional 2D artwork.

Now only do the newly released screenshots showcase anime cat girls in maid uniforms but also several different characters in revealing outfits of all kind. It’s not to say that Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time appeals only to the male audience, the male characters are also very pretty, in a Bishonen kind of way.Read More
